A few months ago, I realized I was waking up anxious and dreading my morning routine. It looked like – Wake up to Christopher crying, rushing to shower him, pack his bag, chug down my coffee, pack us both in the car and speed to the sitter. It felt yucky and rushed. I wasn’t connecting with myself, my son or anything really just hanging on to the anxiousness of it being over. My thoughts of hating mornings were leading to my demise. I had to decide, “was this the routine I wanted my very impressionable son to be part of?”
I reminded myself that my words lead to thoughts, which lead to my beliefs, which lead to my behaviors. It is true for all of us, our thoughts are our beliefs, which are our behaviors. I needed a serious thought shift so I could step into a more meaningful Monday morning because Monday holds the standard for the rest of the week.
